Under nearly perfect racing conditions, nine teammates participated in the Madison Marathon and Half Marathon. These teammates displayed serious mental toughness throughout the day, several posting personal bests.
Full Marathon
Dennis – Taking care of some unfinished business blew away the 4 hour mark with a 3:54:53.
Dave O – Ran the distance and raised a stack of bills to help build a hospital in Haiti.
Half Marathon
Candice – Ran farther than she ever has before in her life and felt strong and confident through the finish line.
Charlie – Gets faster the older he gets and covered the distance in a new best time of 2:01:46 and placed 11th in his age group.
Christine – Overcame a bunch of hurdles just to make it to the start line and then flew through the day in just a bit over 2 hours.
Dotty – Another stellar performance, placing 7th in her division and besting her time from last year by over 10 minutes!
Ed – Steady Eddy paced his race to perfection and crossed the finish line strong and in the top 50% of the crowd.
Jenn – Charged over the 13.1 and posted a personal best in 1:46:33.
Tino – Absolutely crushed the course in a new PR of 1:31:47 (7:00/mile pace) and placed 6th in his division.
Apple Duathlon
5K – 40K – 5K
Jon N – Posted the 2nd fastest time in his age division (and 27th overall), qualifying him for the Duathlon World Championships to be held in North Carolina this September.
American Triple T
Friday – Sprint; Saturday – 2 x Olympic; Sunday – ½ Ironman
Ben – Ben and his UW Tri team partner finished 4th in the men’s team division, completing the IM distance event in just under 11 hours. What a weekend!
